PROJECT TYPE: Secondary research project.
COLLABORATION: Leire Monasterio (Degree in Chemical Engineering, UPV)
DURATION: 12/09/2022 – 11/12/2022
The different absorbances define the type of organic matter and this affects the process so it is considered necessary to deepen in the characterization of the organic matter itself through the study of different absorbances.
Throughout the project, the aim is to know the different absorbances that characterize the water and have an influence on the performance of the purification process and the by-products generated. Usually terms such as 254nm, 272nm or 280nm absorbances are used. The aim is to know in depth the main characteristics of each of these absorbances and others that may be of interest for drinking water treatment.
The main objectives of the project are the following:
- To know exactly which are the main absorbances that characterize water and what information each of them give
- To analyze in the types of raw water treated in the CATABB (Nervión and Zadorra) the values of the different absorbances indicated above and to draw conclusions on the behaviors seen in the treatment with each of them based on these values.
