After the technological surveillance and bibliographic review of the state of the art regarding haloacetic acids (HAA) carried out in the HALURA I project, no detailed information on the trend of these parameters along the treatment in DWTPS with different pre-oxidants has been detected. Therefore, tests are carried out in the CATAB itself, simulating different treatment conditions and analyzing the processes of generation and elimination of HAA.
The main objective of the project is to carry out an experimental analysis on the formation of HAA, as disinfection products, in drinking water purification processes (analysis processes, generation with different oxidants/disinfectants used, variables on which their formation depends, relationship with other disinfection products generated, etc.), possible methods for their elimination.
