CATABB took part in the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition, held in Glasgow from 4 to 8 October 2026. Organised by the International Water Association, the congress brought together thousands of professionals, researchers and companies from across the water sector.
At this international forum, CATABB representatives delivered the presentation “Chlorine Under Scrutiny: Navigating Hidden Threats in Water Management”, which outlined the three lines of research carried out by the centre on the use of chlorine in water disinfection: the study of the variables influencing the degradation of sodium hypochlorite, the analysis of surface covers in storage tanks, and the study of chlorine evolution within the distribution network.
This work has provided a deeper understanding of chlorine behaviour, from its storage and use to its evolution in the network, with the aim of improving the control and safety of the water supply. Through this participation, CATABB has once again reinforced its commitment to applied research, sharing its expertise with the international water community.
