PROJECT TYPE: Primary
DURATION :4 months
At the outlet of intermediate tanks in the supply network, a considerable drop in residual chlorine values has been detected during the summer and it has not been possible to relate it to any variation in the set point or in the VA treatment to justify it. However, an increase in temperature of 2ºC has been detected. Therefore, the aim is to obtain the correlation between chlorine variations in different conditions and the rest of the parameters analyzed at different temperatures in order to know the trend curves.
The aim is to know the evolution of residual chlorine for different oxidants used in VA and thus determine whether they affect possible drops in residual chlorine along the network.
- Samples of water treated at CATABB with chlorine and chlorine dioxide configuration and raw water from the Zadorra will be extracted. Half of the samples will be stored at room temperature and the other half will be stored under shelter
- The DOC, ABS, THM, Cl and TEM parameters of the samples will be analyzed at 0h, 24h, 48h, 72h and 96h
- Trials will be repeated at different times of the year when the water temperature varies
- Tests will be carried out with water from the Nervión to determine if the characteristics of the water affect the chlorine tendency
